If you dont have a boat, then the other option would be to drive into hideaway bay itself, and just as you drive into the place, there is a caraval park on your right. not sure if he has onsite vans, but the tent sites are pretty level and good. from there you can walk to the rocks and the beach and cast from there.. People in the community are trying to stop the boat ramp at dingo beach/ hideaway bay going ahead. the boating community in this area really need this ramp. the current ramp can only be accessed at high tide and really only four wheel drives can use it. we need this new ramp to go ahead for the benefit of the community.. Hideaway bay is a famous fishing area. bait is available at the caravan park in hideaway bay. "rent a dinghy" is available at dingo beach. dingo beach is just 6 minutes drive and offers a the famous beach pub with live music saturdays which is located on the water's edge. a boat ramp can also be found in dingo beach..
Hideaway bay marina is located in a large cove, quite a bit off of the main channel, on the very eastern side of lake lanier. the main advantage is that you never have to worry about wakes and its always quiet and serene.. The boat ramp is the only facility between cannonvale and bowen. the extension of the current boat ramp is a more cost effective solution than the all-tide boat ramp proposal at the nearby blackcurrent island which has long been championed by hydeaway bay resident warren hardy..
